Due to growth of the business, Axis Capital is seeking to appoint an ambitious Senior Lawyer in this newly created position to support the capital risk solutions team and other underwriting teams in London, Dublin, Australia and Singapore. The role will advise on legal risk and transaction structures, draft and negotiate insurance policy wordings, review and negotiate legal agreements and provide general legal advice.

The role reports directly into the Global General Counsel in the US, and will work with the management team worldwide. As sole UK counsel, this is a hands-on, autonomous role which will support various areas across the business and deal with contracts, corporate compliance, claims and underwriting transactions.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 10 years’ PQE (however all candidates with relevant experience, are invited to apply). You will have corporate finance and capital markets experience with a particular emphasis on loan and credit transactions, project finance and related credit insurance issues. You will have excellent communication, drafting and negotiating skills with demonstrated ability in analysis and problem solving.
