Unlocking potential of female lawyers with Coaching Squared


I took part in Coaching Squared whilst employed as a Government lawyer. I was relatively new to the Civil Service at the time, having spent the first part of my career in a City law firm. The scheme gave me an instant network of high performing women outside of my organisation, which has proved incredibly useful in the following years. But even more importantly, it gave me permission to take time out of the ‘day job’ to focus on my career needs and wants.

It was about unlocking my potential with the support of a peer (outside of my organisation) who was going through similar experiences, with whom I could strategise confidentially about what my next move might be, manage barriers and talk through issues. In developing my coaching skills, it also helped to make me a better manager and leader of my team back in the office.
