Laurence Simons Search are delighted to sign up to The 10,000 Black Interns Initiative, a scheme which aims to address the under representation of young black talent in Britain’s leading companies.
The 10,000 Black Interns initiative (#10000BlackInterns) offers paid work experience to 10000 black graduates over the next five years. It has been launched to help transform the horizons and prospects of thousands of young black people with the opportunity to gain invaluable experience, training and mentorship to help provide the foundation for more black people to pursue careers in business.
Following the success of an initial 100 Black Interns programme aimed at the fund management industry, the #10000BlackInterns scheme is engaging with market-leading companies from a wide range of sectors as a way of attracting a more diverse range of talent to their industry.
Laurence Simons Search is among a number of progressive companies to commit to #10000BlackInterns and will be welcoming one intern to the business in Winter 2021 and a further intern in Summer 2022.
Clare Beresford, CEO at Laurence Simons Search, says ‘Diversity and Inclusion is extremely important to us, and we consistently ask our clients about their D&I policies as part of our due diligence. We are proud to support a coordinated campaign such as #10000BlackInterns. The compound effect of each one of us doing something means that incremental steps and change to a more equal world – in all senses – will happen. Our commitment to this scheme provides us a great opportunity to contribute to making a positive and enduring change’’.
