Laurence Simons has been retained in order to recruit an experienced Export Control Specialist for a global industrial player based in the South of France.

Reporting into the VP of the division, and sitting within the company headquarters, you will manage a team responsible for the monitoring of the current Export Control Programme, and will ensure that Export Control risks are properly identified and assessed.  The successful candidate will support the Group’s Head of Export Control and Leadership team to put in place mitigations through robust processes as well as develop and/or propose revisions to the export control policies to address emerging risk areas or changes in the regulatory environment, which will include both the European and US’ regulatory frameworks. This is a broad and thorough role acting as an ambassador for the Export Control function within the business, ensuring that relevant requirements are understood across divisions (and during transactions), taking corrective and investigative measures when required.

The successful candidate will benefit from over 10 years’ experience working in a multinational company advising on and implementing a comprehensive export control programme.  Ideally you will benefit from legal training with significant experience in both US export control regulations (ITAR/ EAR) and European export control regulations, with a proven experience of building strong working relationships with senior stakeholders, as well as being accustomed to accompanying dynamic and effective change through implementing new strategies.  You have excellent communication skills, and are fluent in English and another European language (ideally French, German or Spanish).
