The company’s Research and Development activities are focused on the development of innovative solutions in their key therapeutic areas which has enabled them to create a strong portfolio of marketed and pipeline products.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Switzerland, the General Counsel Commercial and Technical Operations, reports to the Chief Legal Officer and is a key member of the global senior legal, IP, and compliance leadership team as well as the business leadership team. The position will lead and oversee a high performing international legal team for the global commercial operations outside the US, including Europe, Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Canada; global medical affairs; global marketing; global procurement; privacy; technical operations and other central functions including HR. The position holder will also lead transformation initiatives, ensuring a structure, personnel and vision that help drive legal, compliance and business success. The role is part of a forward-looking legal team that is redesigning itself to take advantage of the ongoing disruption in global legal services (ALSPs, legal tech, Legal Ops, etc.) to drive continuous improvement in legal services. This role will be critical in helping lead this vision forward.
To apply, you should have a minimum of 15 years' experience as a lawyer in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in pharmaceutical marketing law and experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements. In addition, experience in a leadership role in a global organization, and substantial supervisory experience of co-ordinating and developing global teams are required. The successful candidate will be a strategic, commercial and agile thinker with a strong ethical and values approach, and ability to build relationships and credibility with stakeholders at all levels. Proficient in spoken and written English.
