Position: Head of Legal & Compliance

Location: Barueri (Alphaville)

On behalf of all legal entities in:

  • Ensure the companies comply with all legislative requirements and internal (Group) directives

  • Act as initial point of contact for managers and employees in connection with compliance and contractual matters

  • Act as link to and support Corporate Legal, Compliance and Data Privacy

  • Design and implement appropriate staff training programmes; and ensure these are documented in accordance with internal (Group) and external requirements

Specific scope:

Act as Compliance Manager/Officer:

  • Support the Compliance Office and the Compliance communication

  • Anti-Corruption and Anti-Trust legislation

  • ensure compliance with internal (Group) and external (legislative) requirements

  • ensure all affected members of the local organisation receive regular training

  • Sales Channel Partner Risk Assessment:

    • oversee the process for regular risk assessments for sales channel partners (distributors)

  • Ad-hoc screening of business partners

    • manage the process of screening all new or potential business partners (customers, suppliers)

    • oversee the process of routine screening of all existing business partners (customers, suppliers)

  • Donations/Sponsorship

    • oversee internal (Group) requirements for documentation of donations/sponsorship

  • Develop, support and assist in local monitoring/reviews

  • Identify and evaluate local Compliance risks

Act as Legal Advisor:

  • review contracts / tenders including tender process

  • liaise as required with external legal advisors in respect of standard Terms & Conditions of business for UK and Irish entities

  • ensure compliance with Contract Checklist in respect of all contracts outwit standard Terms & Conditions; liaise with Group or external legal advisors as necessary

  • maintain database of significant contracts; flag key dates as required

Act as Data Protection Officer:

  • manage external registrations as required as well as compile and maintain the procedure register

  • Drive and monitor internal requirements for data handling and documentation

  • Liaise with other departments regarding data privacy topics

  • Report local data protection status to Data Protection Group Officer and Country Manager

  • any further similar requirements that may arise in due course


  • legal training (e.g. In-house Lawyer/Legal Counsel) and / or specific experience

  • strong communication and intercultural skills

  • excellent English language skills (spoken and in writing)

  • project management

  • attention to detail

  • willingness to raise concerns and communicate effectively with staff at all levels

  • credibility with senior management

  • able to work on own initiative and take ownership of areas within scope

  • ability to design processes and tools to support staff with implementation

  • willingness to research relevant local regulations and legislation and to undertake regular training to keep up-to-date (specific knowledge of relevant areas of law could be an advantage but not required)
