Dollar Financial Group (DFG) is a leading international financial services company, established in 1979, with a network of just under 1,500 retail locations across the United States, Canada and Europe. The company which operates through a number of different brands provides a range of consumer financial products and services including cheque cashing, short-terms consumer loans, pawn lending, foreign exchange and money transfer. The company is firmly established in theUKthrough its subsidiary The Money Shop which has 550 locations across the country and its online brands: Payday UK and Payday Express.
With an exciting international growth plan in place and a move to a more streamlined online distribution of products and services, DFG is seeking to appoint an International E-Commerce Counsel who will become a senior member of the company's legal team.
The postholder will be responsible for:
- Providing legal advice to support the company's online expansion into a number of key strategic global markets
- Advising the business in areas such as e-commerce laws, electronic marketing, online contracting and online financial services
- Developing relationships with key stakeholders both in theUKand internationally
- Liaising with and supporting other DFG counsel in theUSand elsewhere on a variety of legal matters including acquisitions, corporate governance, data protection, IP, regulatory and licensing.
Applicants are expected to be qualified lawyers with at least seven years post qualified experience. You should have a background in e-commerce and experience of working across a number of jurisdictions. Furthermore, you will be able to work autonomously, be an effective communicator with the ability to lead, influence and develop external relationships at all levels.
