Our client is a well-recognised American headquartered biopharma company, operating within a varied range of pharmaceutical areas including oncology and immunology.  Priding itself on a commitment to its patients and communities, the Group offers an inclusive work environment with high standards of ethical behaviour.

An opportunity has arisen for an astute and versatile legal counsel to act as the go-to legal point of contact for the Benelux cluster, supporting business in these regions through drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and partnerships, advising on corporate law, market access, pricing, as well as wider issues such as data-protection, and employment when required.  This is a key strategic role working with top management, providing high level insight into local specificities, coupled with agile operational support with teams on the ground. The successful hire will report into the Head of Legal and Compliance for the wider region based in Switzerland, and he/she will entertain close working relationships with other specialist functions within the Group such as Intellectual Property, Corporate Transactions, Research and Development, Employment, and Litigation.  The Market Counsel will also pilot and instruct external legal support when required.

Prior experience in pharma or life sciences is necessary, and a background in private practice is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a solid knowledge of Dutch law and will be a fluent Dutch/English speaker.  He/she will demonstrate 5-8 years’ relevant experience, exercise pragmatism and agility, and thrive in building relationships with multiple stakeholders, as well as ensure efficient support and business solutions whilst maintaining a high level of integrity.

The role will be based in the wider Brussels area or Utrecht in the Netherlands.
