Our client is a multi-national company that is looking for a regional legal director to provide strategic and operational day to day support to the LA regional management team including identifying risk mitigating initiatives, negociation of contracts, support management with new market/business development initiatives and ensure Legal compliance of operations within LA region.

Key Result & Focus Areas:

Strategic

Develop processes to ensure that risks are scalated to right level of seniority within the organization;

Develop/Review and streamlines processes required for legal review and approval of transactions;

Gain good understanding of business processes within LA region in order to provide relevant and practical advice to various functions and country management;

Collaborate with Group Legal function in Switzerland and provide support in implementation of global Legal initiatives.

Operational

Contract draffing and negotiations;

Update/maintain Intercompany agreements for the Latam region and support the taz department in the drafting of new transfer pricing agreements;

Deal with customs, transfer pricing and other tax related matters;

Assisting the company in setting up of new legal entities;

Manage external legal counsel on specific projects and day to day country specificoperational activities;

Pro-actively spot and raise tax issues to the finance and tax department and provide assistance in handing of the same;

Manage and co-ordinate the company secretarial matters across the region;

Manage litigation;

Responsible for legal budget;

Ensure compliance with laws and company policies including code of conduct etc;

Attend relevant trade Association meetings;

Alert the business of new legal developments affecting the business anticipate future legal issues and suggest strategies to mitigate impact.

Candidate Profile:

General - The ideal candidate should have overall 8-10 years of experience working in an international law firm (minimum 4-5 years) and in-house counsel (minimum 3-4 years) within a multi-national company handling regional level responsibility and with proven experience in managing Legal funtion for LA region.

Experience in dealing with tax and transfer pricing matters and knowledge of the Direct Selling industry is an added advantage.

Uncompromising integrity and values, ability to uphold and advance the same and the company ethics across the organization;

Regulatory Sanitary experience.
