Our client is a global provider of local payment solutions for digital merchants in more than 50 markets around the world and a blockchain-based technology and smart contract platform that traces responsibly sourced gold from mine-to-refiner-to-vault and then digitizes that gold into tokens for trade around the world.

Our client is now looking to recruit a Senior Counsel for EMEA, fluent in both English and French to advise and provide legal leadership to the management of the company in Geneva, Dubai and its EMEA subsidiaries, with a focus on commodities and financing, as well as corporate, regulatory, licensing and commercial advice.

The role will suit an individual looking to branch out into a business combining traditional commercial and trading activities with cutting edge technology in this fast moving fintech arena.

Specific areas of focus will include negotiating and drafting company agreements, including payment agreements, merger and divestiture agreements. Negotiating and drafting commodities documentation (for example offtake, streaming agreements) and financing agreements. The Senior Counsel will also advise on fund/club structuring and assist the currency trading desk reviewing derivative documentation and the payments business with payment documentation. The role will also involve travel reasonably frequently in EMEA markets to meet partners' and business needs.

The position will offer a very attractive remuneration package structured similarly to 'front office' compensation, in order to attract the best talent. Applicants should have a minimun of 7 years of relevant experience, be self-starters, who enjoy working autonomously and who are ambitious to take on leadership responsibilities as the company grows.
