OUR CLIENT:

Our client is a global player within the Automotive Industry and is currently looking for a Senior Counsel, Labour & Employment and Litigation - EMEA, to join them at their offices in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.

THE ROLE:

The role will be responsible for all labour & employment related matters as well as manage and develop strategies for our client's litigation portfolio across Europe.

50% of this role will be dedicated to providing legal advice with regards to a wide variety of labour and employment legal matters where the Senior Counsel will also work alongside Human Resources to investigate, evaluate and efficiently counter threatened or pending employment disputes or litigation throughout EMEA. The role will keep an eye on trends and changes in labour and employment law in EMEA and effectively communicate developments and changes within the organisation.

Another focus for this role will be on the client's litigation portfolio across Europe, including commercial, environmental and product liability litigation. The Senior Counsel will work alongside our clients' commercial transactional lawyers to help evaluate threatened or pending litigation.

Lastly, the Senior Counsel will select and manage outside counsel, drive the adoption of best practices and develop and manage trainings to the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for any German qualified lawyer with significant experience, ideally from both Private Practice and In house, managing labour and employment law matters as well as litigation in general. The ideal candidates will have worked in an international surrounding and will have ideally already been exposed to other jurisdictions throughout Europe. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated experience in successfully driving process improvements and change management in provision of legal services.

Fluency in German and English is required and an additional language, preferably French, would be a plus.
