A renowned global commodities firm, active across a myriad of sectors.

About the role

With a well-knit legal unit that exclusively deals with shipping and maritime disputes, our client is looking for an experienced shipping litigation lawyer to join the team and work closely with the business line and the freight operations team in particular.

This individual will advise on inter alia charterparty and freight contract disputes, assist the traders with daily queries, advise vessel operators across the globe, present arbitration cases before tribunals, liaise with insurers and P&I Clubs and much more.

About you

You will be an experienced shipping litigation lawyer with at least six years of post qualification experience, either in private practice or in a commodities trading house, P&I Club or shipping firm. Ideally you will be common law or UK qualified. Excellent English is essential, French language skills would be a plus.

The client is especially interested in shipping litigation lawyers with a strong, hands-on knowledge of freight operations, particularly dry bulk, and familiarity with charter party forms such as BALTIME and NYPE.
